Criticism of Town Council by Kerry Education Service

The Chairman of The Kerry Education Service has criticised Listowel Town Council for serving a primary school with an enforcement notice. Cllr Brendan MacGearailt says the Council’s action will lead to the closure of Gaelscoil Listoohill. The council claims the school is using an entrance which does not have planning permission. The Gaelscoil is located on the grounds of Listowel Community College, which is owned by Kerry Education Service. The education authority, which had backed the school, is holding a meeting this afternoon to try and resolve the crisis. Cllr MacGearailt says he’s astounded by the council’s behaviour.
