Criticism of Councillors decision to delist Dungail House

A leading Irish heritage group has come out and criticised Councillors decision to delist a protected nineteenth century building on Valentia Island. This follows the decision by councillors to delist Dungail House, paving the way for developers to apply for planning permission to demolish the building and construct a multi million euro development. Chief Executive of The Irish Georgian Society Mary Bryan says she is disappointed but not surprised at the decision. She says it’s a strong possibility the Georgian society may consider appealing plans for the new development.
