Criticism of conditions at Atlas House Accommodation in Tralee

A resident of Atlas House Accommodation Centre in Tralee says the authorities have done nothing to deal with an outbreak of chicken pox among the children there. There is also criticism of the quality of food with claims that, on several occasions, only five litres of milk sometimes watered down were provided to cater for the 20 families. The families at Atlas House are reluctant to complain about the conditions for fear of being singled out as trouble-makers. Peter O’Mahony of the Irish Refugee Council, is not familiar with this particular case, but he says these problems are being experienced in many accommodation centres.
