Critical shortage of rental properties in Killarney and Tralee

The rental market in Killarney is at crisis point.

That’s according to a number of Killarney auctioneers.

The latest Daft.ie rental report show rents in Kerry have risen by nearly 9% in one year with the average monthly rent in the county over €760.

Jonathan Greene of Its4rent in Killarney said rent prices are even higher in Killarney and there’s very little available for rent.

Auctioneers in Tralee also say there is a critical shortage of rental properties in the town.

Speaking on Kerry Today, auctioneer and estate agent, Ger Carmody called on Kerry County Council to suspend a levy introduced last Summer to encourage the building of more houses.
