Criminal Assets Bureau investigate North Kerry business

The Criminal Assets Bureau has been in the county investigating a North Kerry business. Radio Kerry News has learned that the Criminal Assets Bureau were investigating a number of CAB related offences alleged to have been committed by the business. The company under investigation is located in a rural part of North Kerry and was under scrutiny by the Criminal Assets Bureau for a number of offences. Their investigations lasted a number of days. The objectives of the Criminal Assets Bureau include the identification of assets of people which are suspected to come directly or indirectly from criminal activity. CAB was last in the county in February of last year when they recovered 20,000 pounds sterling as part of an investigation in east Kerry. The money was recovered after a local businessman in his late forties was questioned by gardai ivestigating money laundering by Republicans. The establishment of the Criminal Assets Bureau has led to the displacement of major criminal figures around the country. Following their investigations in North Kerry a file is expected to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
