The 2015 Kerry Community Games Athletics Finals, sponsored by Denny, will take place at An Ríocht Athletics Club in Castleisland on Saturday 20 June and Sunday 21 June 2015. These Games will attract competitors representing towns, villages and communities from right across County Kerry. This year, added to the finals is a new event: the 200m under-16 sprint. “The Kerry Community Games gives every single child in the County the opportunity to participate in, and enjoy the many benefits of sport. With The Kingdom’s finest athletes competing to qualify to compete in the National Community Games Finals in August, we are really looking forward to a weekend of athletics,” says Kerry Community Games County Secretary, Margaret Culloty. The Community Games was founded in 1967 to provide young people with the means and the opportunity to utilise their leisure time in a healthy and productive manner. This years Denny Kerry Community Games will involve some 2000 young athletes from all areas of Kerry competing to join the Kerry Team which will represent the County in the national finals. “Denny is delighted to continue to sponsor the Denny Kerry Community Games Athletics Finals, which is a wonderful event for young people. Participating in sport and a healthy lifestyle for young people is so important. This event is essential in promoting exactly that and a strong community spirit among young people in Kerry, said Frank Hayes, Director of Corporate Affairs, Kerry Group. “We wish all the participants every success and fun in the 2015 finals,” he added. The Denny Community Games Athletics Finals features a full list of track and field events, attracting competitors from all quarters of the county.
