Councillors meeting with HSE executives to discuss Milltown GP crisis

A meeting is taking place around now between local councillors and HSE executives, to discuss the lack of a permanent GP in Milltown.

More than 300 people attended a public meeting in the village last night to express their concern that the area will be left without a resident doctor from the middle of next month.

The HSE wrote to patients of the practice last week, explaining that they couldn’t find a new GP to take over the role and would therefore be withdrawing locum coverage  from December 13th.

Local councillor Michael O’Shea, along with other councillors, was due to meet with the HSE earlier this afternoon in Killarney to attempt to resolve the issue.
