Councillor appeals for both sides in Liebherr dispute to enter talks

Radio Kerry understands that members of a trade union representing some staff at Liebherr in Killarney have staged a work-to-rule action today.

It’s believed members of Connect which represents some electricians took part.

It’s not known what has led to the action being taken.

Liebherr has a workforce of up to 900 people.

The company has been manufacturing container cranes at the plant since 1958.

Radio Kerry has contacted Connect and Liebherr for a comment.
