Council to write to Ordinance Survey Ireland about sat nav problems

Kerry County Council is to write to Ordinance Survey Ireland about problems with satellite navigation systems on the county’s roads.

Cllr Norma Moriarty raised the issue at the recent South and West Kerry Municipal District meeting.

She asked the council to contact Google Maps and sat nav companies, to ask that they advise people travelling the Ballaghisheen Pass, that the route is narrow and not suitable for larger vehicles.

The council says that as this matter affects a number of roads, and there are numerous companies providing satellite navigation systems, that they’ll write to Ordinance Survey Ireland to seek clarification on how these matters can be dealt with.
