Kerry County Council says it’ll continue to review the opening times of waste transfer stations in the county.
The local authority says it doesn’t have funding at the moment to extend opening hours, but the matter can be kept under review.
It was responding to calls from Independent Kenmare Cllr Dan McCarthy for the extension of opening hours of waste transfer stations to five and a half days a week during peak season.
The council says it has five civic amenity facilities; three of these – Milltown, Coolcashlagh, and Kenmare are open five and a half days a week.
The remaining two, Caherciveen and Dingle are open four and a half days a week.
