The cost of building homes in Kerry is still a deterrent for builders and developers.
Paul Stephenson of auctioneers Sherry FitzGerald Stephenson Crean says demand for both new and used homes in the county has continued to increase over the past twelve months.
He says because of the expense of building homes, which include materials, planning and building costs, builders are not encouraged to engage in widespread building.
Outside of minor developments in Tralee and Killarney, no large-scale projects have been undertaken by private builders and developers.
