Cooper Wins Roscommon Feature

THE Grade 3 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Kilbegnet Novice Chase was the feature race on Monday afternoon at Roscommon and it was won in impressive fashion by The Game Changer, trained by Gordon Elliott and owned by Michael O’Leary’s Gigginstown House Stud. The betting believed it was a match between The Game Changer and Sizing Platinum and it worked out that way in the race too. Sizing Platinum, the 10-11 favourite, set out to make all under Jonathan Burke but Bryan Cooper had him in his sights throughout and pounced late to win by two and a half lengths. Castletown rider Billy Lee is having a superb season and his winning spree continued at Roscommon today when he guided Expreso Brasileiro to glory in the Follow Roscommon On Facebook Handicap. Backed into 9-4 favourite before the off, Expreso Brasileiro was always travelling sweetly in the hands of Lee and he quickened up smartly to beat Oor Jock by four lengths. Like so many of Lee’s winners this season, Expreso Brasileiro is trained on the Curragh by Willie McCreery
