Contract for broadcasting rights to Rose of Tralee up for renewal

It’s been confirmed that the contract for the broadcasting rights of the Rose of Tralee is up for renewal this year. RTE has a long history with the festival and the show was ranked as the 11th most popular television show broadcast by any station in the country last year. This year it’s tipped to be in the top five.A record 920,000 people tuned in to the last quarter hour, to see the Mayo Rose, Aoibhinn Ni Shuilleabhain being crowned the 2005 Rose of Tralee. Spokesperson for the Festival of Kerry Ted Keane, has confirmed that they have not been approached by any other interested parties at this stage.
