The construction of one-off houses in Kerry is decreasing.
According to the CSO, the number of commencement notices for single houses during the first four months of this year is down 6% on the same period in 2017.
A commencement notice is a notification that a person intends to carry out either works or a material change of use of a building.
From January-April of 2017, Kerry County Council received 71 commencement notices for one-off residential houses.
Over the same period this year, 67 notices were received by the council, down 4 on last year.
However, the number of residential developments increased by 7%, while residential units, such are estates or apartments, increased by 25%.
