Condolences are being offered to the family of a man killed in a workplace accident in north Kerry yesterday.
Two investigations are underway into the incident following the death of the man aged in his forties.
The alarm was raised around 2pm yesterday on the R551 Tarbert to Ballylongford road at Sallowglen.
The deceased man, named as Andrew Fleming from Dunmore in Co Galway, was part of a team working on an ESB Networks project laying a 220-kilovolt cable from Kilpaddoge to Knockanure.
It’s understood the incident involved a construction vehicle.
Emergency services, including Gardaí, ambulance and fire service personnel, attended the scene.
The road was closed for a time but has since fully reopened.
Gardaí are carrying out a full technical examination of the scene and the Health and Safety Authority are conducting their own investigation into the incident.
A post mortem exam is due to be carried out later.
ESB Networks says their thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased, who was a father of one.
