Companies in Kerry encouraged to train their own workforce

Companies in Kerry should aim to train their own workforce.

That’s according to Pat O’Leary, Managing Director of Liebherr Container Cranes, who says that in order to get the right calibre of employee, the construction machine manufacturer has expanded and upgraded its apprentice facilities.

He says the changing nature of the business requires a high standard of employee, and the apprenticeship program allows the company to invest in their workforce.

Mr O’Leary also believes that the company’s link up with the Institute of Technology Tralee is critical, especially as Liebherr’s products become more high-tech.

He adds the local recruitment and training of staff is something that all companies should look into.
