Community deitician speaks out on toddlers eating habits

The principal community dietician with the HSE for the Kerry area says the follow on formula milk which is marketed towards toddlers is not necessary. Frieda Horan says children will intake enough iron if they eat small amounts of red meat, green vegetables, cereal and baked beans. She says children need to be introduced to solids no later than 6 months of age in order to develop sensible eating habits.
