College of GPs says there is a shortage of GPs in the country

stethoscope   The Irish College of General Practitioners is warning that there’s a shortage of GPs in the country. The organisation – who’s holding its winter meeting in Athlone today – says patient safety is being put at risk – because resources on the ground are overstretched. It says it’s concerned that a large number of recent graduates are emigrating – rather than establishing their own practices in Ireland.
