Claims against Kerry General are referred to claims agency

Six claims relating to treatment received by patients at Kerry General have been referred to the state claims agency from January of this year. Last year the total number of claims made was 11 which again relate to treatment received by patients. The management of personal injury and property damage claims against the state is under the remit of the state claims agency.Three public liability claims which include such claims as slips, trips and falls were notified to the Irish public bodies between January 1st 2004 to the end of December; however there has been none so far this year. Legal proceedings on claims made last year and this year are ongoing, with the number of settlements from January 04 to date standing at 9.
