City Confirm Month Out For Aguero

Manchester City have confirmed that star striker, Sergio Aguero is facing a month out of action with a hamstring injury. The Argentine suffered the injury while on international duty and will now miss tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Sevilla as well as Sunday’s Manchester derby in the Premier League. The Ireland Under-17 Women’s team have progressed to the Elite round of qualifying for the European championships. Dave Bell’s side have beaten their hosts, Turkey by three goals to nil in today’s Group 1 qualifier in Izmir. Goals from Leanne Kiernan, Alex Kavanagh and Lauren Kelly have sent the Irish side through after scoring 13 goals without conceding in their three group matches. Michel Platini can’t be declared as a candidate for next year’s FIFA presidential election – if he’s still suspended from all football related activity by Monday’s deadline for nominations. The head of UEFA has been suspended while he’s being investigated over a payment received from Sepp Blatter. However, the former French international could still be involved in the February 26th ballot – if his suspension is lifted before then.
