City Complete Signing Of Mangala

man city Manchester City have completed the signing of defender Eliaquim Mangala from Portuguese side FC Porto. The French international has joined the Premier League champions on a five-year contract. City haven’t revealed the fee, but it’s believed to be worth around 32-million pounds, or 40 million euro. Mangala went to the World Cup in Brazil with France, but didn’t make an appearance. Sunderland have reportedly rejected an approach from West Ham for their striker Connor Wickham. The Hammers are in the market for a new forward after it emerged that star striker Andy Carroll would miss the opening months of the new season through injury. Reading have signed defender Anton Ferdinand. He joins the Championship side after recently being with a club in Turkey. The ex-West Ham, QPR and Sunderland man hasn’t played a game in almost a year. Also, German striker Miroslav Klose, the highest-scoring player in World Cup history, has retired from international football after helping his country to be crowned world champions in Brazil. Elsewhere, Raheny United have claimed their second consecutive win in the preliminary round of the Women’s Champions League. Two goals from Clare Shine was enough to give the Irish side a 2-nil victory over NSA Sofia at the Cluj Arena in Romania. Shine made the breakthrough in first-half stoppage time before doubling Raheny’s lead just 5 minutes into the second-half and the win leaves them top of the Group 2 standings.
