Chief Superintendent Eileen Foster has been appointed as the new head of the Kerry Garda Division.
Superintendent Foster says she is delighted to have taken up the Kerry role and is looking forward to working closely with communities and stakeholders in the county.
The Cork native first joined An Garda Síochána in 1989.
Since then, she has moved up through the force and worked in a range of areas including with the Cork Divisional Drugs Squad.
She also set up the Divisional Protective Services Unit in Cork City.
She will be based at Tralee Garda Station.
