Chamber of Commerce puts on hold elections for new President

Tralee’s Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise has decided to put on hold elections to choose a new President. Members decided at their AGM that no officer elections should take place until the chamber has found a chief executive to run the organisation. Outgoing President Daithi O`Connor will stay at the helm until a CEO has been appointed. It’s expected the Chief Executive will take over most of the work being done by elected officers on a voluntary basis. Mr O`Connor says officers find it increasingly difficult to combine their chamber duties with the demands of running full-time businesses.
