Chairman of the IFA speaks out on CJD issue

Consumers have nothing to fear from eating Irish beef according to the Chairman of the IFA in Kerry. Flor Mc Carthy says Ireland has a highly regulated beef sector and there are a number of controls and safeguards in place. He was speaking after the country’s first case of CJD was confirmed yesterday. Mr Mc Carthy says we have one of the highest standards of production in the world and beef sales should not suffer.
