Chair of the Public Accounts Committee says HSE not fit for purpose

The Chair of the Public Accounts Committee says he’s concerned at the timing of the decision by the St Vincent’s Hospital to outline that it pays salary top-ups so close to Christmas. John McGuinness The comments come following a statement from St Vincent’s Hospital admitting that it’s CEO’s salary is in breach of pay caps. The hospital says Nicholas Jermyn is earning almost 300 thousand Euro a year – less than half of his salary is paid by the HSE with the rest funded by Vincent’s private hospital and includes a 20 thousand Euro car allowance.
