The Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council says she believes the principle of the Local Property Tax is wrong.
Yesterday, a vote by Kerry County Councillors on a proposal to again increase the base rates for the LPT in Kerry for 2019 by 5% was tied.
Local authority rules meant that the casting vote was by Cathaoirleach Fianna Fail Cllr Norma Foley who voted against the proposal meaning the tax will return to original base rates.
The increase would have meant those on the lowest band of €90 would have had to pay an extra €4.50.
