Castleisland Fire Brigade are this morning continuing to battle a massive gorse fire in Ahamore Bog.
Fire services were tasked to the scene of the fire near Currow, Castleisland yesterday evening at 36 minutes past six to fight the blaze.
Four fire service appliances from Castleisland, Tralee and Killarney fought the blaze through the night for almost 12 hours until 5.45 this morning.
Castleisland Fire Brigade have returned to the scene this morning.
It comes following a large gorse fire in North Kerry yesterday between Glenderry and Ballyheigue.
Kerry County Council this week confirmed that, not including this week’s fire and up until May 3rd, fire services had to contend with 93 gorse fires in the county.
