Small businesses from Listowel, Tralee, Killarney and Castleisland were the big winners at this year’s County Enterprise Awards.
The top prize of €2,500 went to Antoinette Butler of Irish Host Family in Castleisland, who will represent the county at the annual National Enterprise Awards in Dublin this May.
The awards organised by Local Enterprise Office Kerry took place in Manor West Hotel Tralee on Friday.
Other winners include; Innovation Award Winner, Joseph Moynihan of JM Agri Design, Tralee, Retail Product Award winner Ildiko Bajzat of Wellness Baking Listowel and Export Award winner Karen Mahony of Babababrock, Killarney.
The overall winner, Irish Host Family is in the internationally traded services sector.
It provides language and immersion programmes for European Students coming to Kerry.
Irish Host Family Ltd will now compete against 30 other companies from every local authority area for a share of the €40,000 prize fund across thirteen categories at the National Enterprise Awards in May.
