Castle Green Preservation Group to meet in Ballybunion

A special meeting of the Castle Green Preservation Group in Ballybunion is to be held tonight. It’s been called by one of the founder members following divisions in the group over it’s stance in relation to a new hotel to be built in the town. The group submitted an appeal to An Board Pleanala after Kerry County Council gave the go-ahead to developer Tom McEnrey’s project Later an attempt was made to withdraw this appeal but the board wouldn’t allow it and a decision on whether or not the hotel will get planning is expected by the end of the month. Jay Galvan who’s called tonight’s meeting says all members of the group have been invited and it’s time to make their stance clear. He says the group should be allowed to withdraw their appeal if that’s what they decide.
