Case of a man charged with damaging 4th of July statues is struck out

The case of a man charged with damaging 4th of July statues in Killarney has been struck out.

19-year-old Eamon Murphy of Cahir, Aghadoe caused €2,300 worth of damage to the Abraham Lincoln and Lady Liberty fibreglass statues, which had been erected for the 4th of July celebrations.

The case was before Killarney District Court where Judge David Waters was told Mr Murphy has paid compensation to the statue owners, Killarney Chamber of Tourism and Commerce, who have withdrawn their complaint.
