Campaigners call for charter to protect Town Park

Campaigners against the use of the Town Park for the Rose of Tralee want a charter to protect the park from any infringement. Last week, councillors decided by six votes to four last week to allow Birds Amusements to set up in the park behind the Ashe Hall next month. Opponents met the Town Clerk yesterday to voice their objections, but he gave no commitment to them. Tommy Collins campaigned against a roadway through the park in the sixties he says there should be a clear vision for it.
