There’s a need for a wider debate in a bid to find solutions to climate change.
That’s according to CEO of the Irish South and West Fish Producers’ Organisation Patrick Murphy.
He was speaking ahead of the airing of an RTÉ documentary which features areas along the Kerry coast that have become desert-like with isopods feasting on plastic.
This same area along the Iveragh Peninsula was full of sea-life thirty years ago.
Sinn Féin TD Martin Ferris raised the issue in the Dáil recently.
Patrick Murphy says climate change is an ongoing issue, adding people need to change their attitudes to stop the problem at its source.
