Calls on HSE to explain delayed access for patients to University Hospital Kerry

A Kerry councillor is calling on the HSE to explain why patients were delayed gaining access to University Hospital Kerry at the weekend.

Sinn Féin councillor Pa Daly received reports on Friday that up to seven ambulances were waiting with patients outside the Emergency Department.

He says it’s also claimed an ambulance was waiting for almost three hours before the patient could be handed over.

Cllr Daly says it’s completely unacceptable that parts of Kerry were left without ambulance cover because of long delays at the ED.
