A Cahersiveen man has called on the Government to protect the South Kerry town.
Cahersiveen Area Resource Development group representative Alan Landers was speaking following the confirmation that a Fexco deal with Aer Lingus will be ending in August.
This will affect 50 staff based in Cahersiveen and Killorglin; Fexco say they’ll try to redeploy relevant staff across the organisation.
The Cahersiveen group promotes jobs and enterprise in the area and Mr Landers says this loss is a disappointing blow.
Alan Landers of ACARD says the South Kerry town has been ignored for years, adding that the Government need to help bring more people into the area.
