Calls for traffic calming measures outside national school

The County Council says it’s hopeful it will get funding next year for road safety measures for a school located on one of the busiest roads in the county. Residents have been calling for traffic calming measures outside Derry Kay National School which is situated on the Tralee/Dingle road. A spokesperson for The Council’s engineering section says once it gets funding from the National Roads Authority, it will carry out improvements which will see the road being moved further away from the primary school. The Council is also looking at introducing traffic calming measures to reduce speeding on that stretch of road.
