Calls for more funding for mental health services

More funding is needed to provide support services for people with mental health difficulties, a disability group in the county has claimed. The Kerry network of people with disabilities says the amount of government funding allocated to mental health groups is still quite low. Margaret O`Shea says her group recently applied for money to appoint a part-time advocacy officer in this field but were turned down. She says the Government needs to support the development of new services.
