Calls for Government to reduce pupil teacher ratio

The Kerry branch of the Irish National Teacher`s Organisation is calling on the Government to reduce the ratio of teachers to pupils, as some teachers in Kerry contend with over 30 pupils. The government had given an assurance that there would no more than 20 pupils per teacher, for children under the age of 9. The INTO says they have failed to deliver. The principal of the CBS in Tralee, Denis Coleman says children are not realising their full potential because of this.
