Calls for Dungail House to be delisted

The Chairman of Knightstown Tidy Towns says Dungail House should be de listed as it is a hindrance to progress in the town. Councillors will have to vote in September on the de listing of the 19th century protected building which the Irish Georgian Society says is of historical importance. Under legislation protected buildings cannot be demolished. Developers Paudie and Seamus Lynch hope to build a restaurant, craft shop, apartments and a housing complex. Michael Egan says the town needs this development.
