Calls for deer habitat to be protected by buffer zone.

The Kerry Deer Society is calling for a buffer zone to be created around the deer habitat. The call was made following a decision by Killarney Town Council to rezone a five acre site from amenity to residential which is situated on the fringe of Killarney National Park. The Deer Society says the protected red deer are coming under increasing threat from expansion in Killarney. Noel Grimes says they need to be protected.
