Calls for decision on two Kerry hotels

A Fine Gael Councillor and former employee of the Great Southern Hotel group has called for a decision to be made soon on the future of the two hotels in the county. Parknasilla near Sneem and the Great Southern Hotel in Killarney are facing closure because of four years of trading losses.A meeting of the joint Oireachtas Committee on transport heard the financial and operational position of the group is now bleak. Siptu which represents the workers at the Kerry hotels is to meet next week with senior executives. Councillor Shelia Casey says while the outlook is not positive its vital staff is kept informed of any developments.
