Calls for County Manager to recruit planning staff

The Chairman of The Planning Committee on Kerry County Council has called on County Manager Martin Riordan to recruit more forward planning staff. Cllr Brendan Cronin says area plans need to be compiled across the County and ultimately the responsibility for this lies with the manager. He says the planners that are currently in place can’t even cope with the day to day planning applications.The Cllr’s comments come following a decision by An Board Pleanala to reject plans for a hotel in Ballinskelligs because of the lack of an area plan. Cllr Cronin says any new staff recruited to compile area plans must have the right attitude
