There’s a call for more respite services for people with disabilities in Kerry.

That’s according to Anne Kelly from Ballybunion, whose daughter Laura has special needs.

She was speaking as Minister of State for Disability Issues, Finian McGrath visits Kerry today; he’ll attend Nano Nagle Special School and Ashfield Lodge, and meet with representatives of Kerry Parents and Friends.

While Anne Kelly welcomes the opening of a respite centre in Kilmorna, Listowel earlier this year, she says she’ll be telling the minister today that Kerry needs more respite and residential care.
