Call for Kerry County Council to take action on school drop off chaos

There’s a call for Kerry County Council to take action on school drop off chaos in Castleisland.

Michael Burke lives on College Road, where there are three schools in close proximity; he says there’s congestion every day at school time as there isn’t enough car parking, with cars parking on footpaths and the road ending up being blocked.

He’s suggesting Kerry County Council lease land which is owned by the mart and is near An Ríocht, in order to develop a car park for dropping off and collecting school children.

He also believes the road surface needs to be improved, traffic calming measures need to be put in place along with pedestrian crossings and signage.
