Call on HSE to reinstate second Killarney emergency ambulance

There’s a call on the HSE to reinstate the second emergency ambulance removed from Killarney over three years ago.

Cllr John Joe Culloty says the ambulance service is constantly stretched, and as a result is putting people’s lives at risk.

In October 2013, the HSE re-structured the ambulance service in South Kerry; Killarney lost one emergency ambulance but was replaced by an intermediate care vehicle.

Cllr Culloty says the Killarney ambulance is regularly called out to North Cork at night, because Millstreet only has an ambulance during the day, and therefore if an ambulance is needed in Killarney it has to come from Kenmare.

He’s calling on the HSE and Minister for Health Simon Harris to reinstate the second Killarney ambulance:
