Call for audit on all school buses

A call has been made for an audit to be carried out on all school buses in the county following Monday`s bus crash in Meath in which five school girls died. Cllr Michael Cahill says the Government needs to act and should also look at speed limits on our roads. He says seatbelts should be compulsory on our school transport system.Meanwhile the Secretary of Sam, a youth group in the county says parents should not boycott school buses in September unless they are fitted with individual seatbelts. Heidi Giles says she would be concerned about the increase in cars on our roads as a result. She says we need to remain pragmatic.
