Call for development of cycle safe routes in North Kerry

There’s a call for cycle safe routes to be developed in North Kerry.

Sinn Féin Cllr Dianne Nolan made the call at the recent Listowel Municipal District meeting, asking the council to identify routes and seek funding.

The council says there are a number of factors that contribute to a cycle safe route that require careful consideration, including traffic speed and volume, and road width.

Cllr Nolan says when cycle safe routes are developed, they also need to be promoted from a driver-awareness point of view.
