Call for council to take on more staff to deliver projects

There’s been a call for Kerry County Council to take on more staff to deliver projects for the county.

Fianna Fáil Cllr Norma Foley asked the council to increase the number of personnel working in the Capital Infrastructure Unit.

The council says the unit, which was established in 2014, has delivered an extensive work programme to date, including the Council’s Housing Construction programme, the Tralee Smarter Travel Initiative, and the South Kerry Greenway.

The council says further projects will be progressed as funding is made available, and they’re satisfied there’s enough staff to deliver this year’s work programme, which includes building 117 council houses.
