Call for council to carry out safety repairs on part of Mount Brandon

There’s a call for Kerry County Council to carry out repairs on part of Mount Brandon to make it safer for climbers.

West Kerry Fine Gael Cllr Seamus Cosaí Fitzgerald raised the issue at the recent meeting of South and West Kerry Municipal District.

Cllr Fitzgerald says an area of the mountain that people walk from the Clahane side has become eroded following heavy rain, snow and frost in recent years.

He’s asking the council to look at the possibility of it or another agency carrying out works on the 10 metre section:
