Businesses in Waterville says café sign doesn’t reflect views on Americans

Businesses representatives in Waterville have expressed regret about negative publicity surrounding a sign in a local café which said that ‘loud Americans’ were not welcome. No Loud Americans sign - Peter's Place Cafe, Waterville The sign which also says ‘no buses or coaches’ appeared on the premises of Peter’s Place Café in Waterville. The owner, Peter Fitzgerald, is making no comment. A statement issued this evening by the Waterville Business Association said the sign in no way represents the views of Waterville businesses or the community as a whole. The group said it had energised them to celebrate their unique Waterville-American relationship and that Americans are always welcome in the village.
