Bus Eireann has confirmed the customer waiting area in Killarney bus station will reopen tomorrow (Friday, October 11th).

The company removed staff from the facility at Killarney Outlet Centre in 2017 for cost saving measures; since then the operator of the shop helped passengers on a voluntary basis, until the shop closed last Saturday.

A spokesperson for Bus Éireann says it’s anticipated the retail unit will only be closed temporarily, adding CIE’s property department are actively seeking a new tenant.

All travel tickets must still be purchased online at www.buseireann.ie or directly from the driver.

Kerry Independent TD Danny Healy-Rae says he is pleased the waiting area will reopen.
